 Indices Trading Instruments

Indices (or Indexes) represent the overall performance of a group of stocks from a specific country, region, or sector. Instead of trading individual company stocks, indices let you speculate on the performance of the entire market segment.

In forex and CFD trading, you don’t buy the actual index—you trade its price movements via CFDs.

  1. US30 (Dow Jones) – Tracks 30 large U.S. companies
  2. US100 (Nasdaq 100) – Focuses on major tech stocks
  3. US500 (S&P 500) – Represents 500 leading U.S. companies
  4. GER40 (DAX 40) – Top 40 companies on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange
  5. FRA40 (CAC 40) – Top 40 stocks on the Euronext Paris

Good to Know

• Indices often gap at the open due to overnight news or after-hours earnings.

• Index trading is ideal for swing trading, day trading, and hedging strategies.
