Key Order Execution Terms in MT5


A. Slippage

  1. Definition: Difference between requested & actual fill price.
  2. Causes: High volatility, low liquidity, slow internet.
InfoExample: You buy EUR/USD at 1.1000, but it fills at 1.1002 (+2 pips slippage).

B. Requotes

  1. Definition: Broker rejects order and offers a new price (common in Instant Execution).
  2. Price moved too fast before order processed.
  3. Low liquidity in the market.


C. Partial Fills

  1. Definition: Large orders split into smaller fills at different prices.You order 10 lots, but only 3 lots fill immediately at 1.1000, then 7 lots at 1.1001.



D. Order Freeze Level

  1. Definition: Minimum distance (in pips) from current price where orders can be placed.
  2. If freeze level = 10 pips, you can’t place a Buy Stop within 10 pips of the current price.

E. Margin Call & Stop-Out Levels


  1. Margin Call → Warning when equity ≤ margin requirement % (e.g., 100%).
  2. Stop-Out → Broker forcibly closes trades when equity ≤ stop-out % (e.g., 50%).
